Plug.dj - Deani1232 - 04-30-2017

The lovely member Aervone mentioned Plug.dj in our Discord chat a while ago, and it made me wonder if this is something the community would want.

For those of you who don't know what Plug.dj is, it's a platform for sharing music with the other people in the Plug.dj channel, which would be private to our group. It works by creating playlists (built with Youtube Videos), and once you've got a playlist ready to go, You can enter the waiting list. Once someone's song ends, the next person in line's song begins. Along with this, you can grab songs for your own playlist, upvote songs, or downvote songs. What do you think? Is this something we should use for our community, as something off to the side? Or should we start a music sharing forum? Tell me what you guys think!

We don't need it. Our community is very small, so I couldn't see many people using it.

Plug.dj went out of business a while ago, and only recently came back, so I also doubt its stability as a company. We could get a music bot for Discord or something, but this is just a lot.

I think it would be a good idea, as you get to see what the people's tastes in music are.
However, there's one problem. If we were to do this, we would have to deal with trolls who put inappropriate videos in their playlist. This is why OmniKraft hasn't had a plug.dj for a while, and only unofficial ones have been made. They couldn't regulate what people put in playlists and played because there's no way to regulate it. Or we could make it private, which means you would have to have a long URL that isn't catchy, (Although, that could be fixed with a custom link shortener like tiny.cc or bit.ly but you need to make a free account for bit.ly.) and I think there's some other exception to private plug.djs but I'm not sure.

TL;DR, It would be a good idea in my opinion, but it also comes with some major drawbacks.

Agreed.

I know I would use the Plug.dj! You probably wouldn't like my kind of music tho.
